Data Warehouse Analyst
Summary: Ensure quality production support of two custom Oracle data warehouse systems, as well as enhancements as time permits. Interface with clients to prioritize support issues and provide status, coordinate support efforts, and resolve escalated issues. Perform design and occasional development on enhancement requests as time permits.
Responsibilities:
Provide production support of existing custom data warehouse implementations, including rotational off-hour support.
Duties include troubleshooting and addressing load failures, issue resolution, data integrity verification, and ad-hoc requests
Determine detailed system requirements based on business requirements provided by Marketing and Operations groups.
Develop functional and technical designs for custom development
Conduct development via Oracle PL/SQL, Unix shelling scripting, Business Objects Data Integrator, Cognos and other languages as required
Cross-train and ramp up in custom data warehouse technologies and other functional areas
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors degree in an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent experience
Experience:
3+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development
2+ years of experience in ETL tool (BODI, Informatica, or Ab Initio)
2+ years of experience in Unix Shell scripting
3+ years of experience in Data Warehouse environment
Exposure to web-based reporting tool (Cognos or Business Objects)
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in Texas De-regulated Utilities or commodities/retail business a big plus
Exposure to both custom and non-custom data warehouse projects a plus
Experience with Cognos a plus
Experience with Business Objects Data Integrator a plus
