Director of Financial Aid Services
As the Director of Financial Aid Services, we will rely on you to manage every aspect of our Financial Aid departments, including agency and student billing. You will have the opportunity to ensure that compliance is adhered to and that all departmental duties are performed in a timely manner. In addition, you will also:
· Monitor all weekly reports to ensure the accounts are collected and processed in a timely manner and that student payments and financial aid payments are scheduled
· Monitor credit balances for processing and compliance
· Ensure that all federal loan counseling is carried out in accordance with existing guidelines
· Oversee the Financial Aid Manager’s and Administrator’s at all campuses and ensure that compliance is maintained in accordance with all pertinent regulatory bodies
· Perform bank EFT transactions as required per applicable regulations
· Monitor the school’s Federal Accounts to ensure that minimal account balances are maintained
· Perform regular quality assurance file reviews to guarantee the maintenance of accurate and complete financial aid records in accordance with federal, state, and accrediting agencies
Other responsibilities include:
· Hire, train, and review all new Financial Aid Managers and assist with the hiring of Administrators
· Ensure timely processing of all student aid applications in all campuses for Title IV and other aid programs
· Perform required drop calculations (R2T4, TWC) to ensure returns/refunds are executed within federal/state parameters
· Oversee operations/review student records to ensure student eligibility requirements are met before requesting Title IV student disbursements
· Prepare accurate and timely financial aid reports for management
· Stay abreast of current financial aid regulations and changes by all means possible, such as the web, newsletters and seminars
· Conduct weekly meetings with employees to review the status of processing of current student and prospect files
Job Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of financial aid experience along with High School Diploma at minimum; College degree preferred. Proven track record of being a strong manager with the proven capability of managing all aspects of a financial aid department, thorough knowledge of federal (DOE), state and accrediting regulations is required along with computer literacy and a self-starter personality. Exceptional time management and organizational skills, ability to work with little supervision and excellent communication skills are critical.
