Job Description:
SENIOR STAFF AUDITOR
Responsible for conducting and documenting audit examinations throughout the corporation, including the more complex and high risk areas. Reviews operations of various departments, verifies that bank policy is adhered to and prepares documentation on audit results. Utilizes knowledge of various business areas in making recommendations to improve operations and allow for better internal controls. Experience Required: Minimum 3 year sof auditing experience in a financial institution.
• Knowledge of accounting and banking principles normally obtained through a four year degree program in accounting or finance (with a minimum of 9 hours in accounting) is necessary to identify deficiencies in documentation and control Analytical and organizational skills are necessary to conduct audits.
• Knowledge of the operations, functions, and objectives of interfacing areas is required to properly audit operations, services, systems, workflow, and operational impact on other areas
• Conducts and documents audits throughout the corporation, including the more complex and high risk areas. Utilizes operational understanding of various bank areas, to ensure operations, services, and systems have proper audit controls in place.
• Conducts test of controls of a business unit to ensure measures are taken to avoid financial loss to the bank. Applies analytical skills to review information and determine potential control weaknesses.
• Prepares final documentation of audit findings and develops recommendations for improved controls or procedures.
• Participates in meetings with business unit to discuss audit results. Communicates with partners at all levels, presenting recommendations on operations and controls for the business unit. Follows up on recommendations made for corrective actions and ensures that recommendations are implemented.
